Fiasco Cases Appoints New General Manager
Cambridge, NZ. Events infrastructure company, Fiasco Cases, has appointed Steven Parker as General Manager.
Steven joins the existing team formed by Fiasco founders Joe Bradford and Matt Waterhouse, and sales and design talent Brad Dring, Ash Algie and Brett Wallace.
Previously working as a business advisor, Steven is responsible for driving the day-to-day strategy centred around the growth and development of Fiasco Cases, which is now more pertinent than ever as the industry gears up post-pandemic.
Steven brings a wealth of expertise to Fiasco, particularly around strategy, team development, and implementing the systems that grow a business.
On the challenges Steven faces in his new position, he said:
"I'm thrilled to be part of the Fiasco Cases team. Fiasco built an excellent name for itself before COVID-19. The key challenge is to reclaim that solid reputation and build upon it.
"Like everyone, we're facing supply chain issues and the goal is to navigate that while rebuilding post-pandemic. Our most immediate goal is increasing our inventory and staffing levels."
When COVID-19 brought the touring and events industry to an abrupt halt, Fiasco was forced to pivot to save the company and employee jobs.
Work From Home Desks was born out of this pivot, and has helped Fiasco "keep warm" over the past two and a half years. Staff that were previously working on the cases business were transferred to the desk business and so one of the first tasks for Steven was to re-organise the NZ sales function to support the NZ manufacturing team.
"Post pandemic, we're in a stronger overall staff position. Across both companies, we employ more manufacturing and customer service staff, so we're better able to accommodate the increase in demand and implement the necessary systems required to bring Fiasco back to life," said Steven.
While adding new staff members was always the plan, it had to happen earlier than expected due to the sudden ramp-up in demand following the rescheduling of many events that had been postponed due to COVID. This was also in addition to the typical customer demand that Fiasco would expect.
As Fiasco regathers itself to go after growth, customers can expect shorter lead times as inventory levels and manufacturing ability increase, and a return to the stellar in-country customer service and sales support they received pre-pandemic.
"Coming out of this globally difficult time, we're once again excited about the prospects the future holds for Fiasco and the industry we love. In other words, Fiasco is here to stay!" said Steven.
